| Facilities
at Kavaratti |
In Kavaratti we have the referral hospital(Indira Gandhi Hospital).
We have additional facility of a Dental unit, ECHO, Treadmill facilities
for heart patients, Eye unit, ELISA Test for AIDS etc. In addition
to this, IGH Kavaratti has a full-fledged Telemedicine unit. We
have one Ayurvedic Dispensary attached to IGH, Kavaratti. As there
are no private hospitals/medical shops all medicines required for
the patients are made available within the hospital. One Physician
and one Ophthalmologist are working in IGH. The posts of one Paediatrician,
one Surgeon, one Anesthetist, one Gynaecologist and one Pathologist
are presently vacant for want of qualified hands. Under Reproductive
and Child Health(RCH) we have posted one lady Gynaecologist as consultant
at IGH Kavaratti.
